Water of Life - Partnership in India and West Africa
The presence of Water of Life in West Africa and India is a key aspect of Brookwood's partnerships. Providing a water well opens the doors for starting new churches with Dennis Aggrey and Alphonso Barry in West Africa, and pastor Praveen in India. Providing clean fresh water for those suffering because of disease from drinking bad water is an act of pure compassion.
The cost to provide a new water well:
- West Africa - $5,000
- India - $2,000
With each water well there is a gospel witness, follow up, and a connection to a local church or the starting of a new church.
|
Women and children carry water long distances and too often it is not worth drinking. These girls are getting water from a hand dug well that is impossible to keep clean from all kinds of contamination. This result is dysentery and typhoid fever.
Water wells provided by Water of Life in India is a genuine expression of Christ's love for untouchables. In villages where there is no source of clean water. There is openness to the gospel that teaches we are all touchable by Christ. The ground at the foot of the cross is level and all all stand equally in need of forgiveness and a new life. Churches quickly grow as people discover hope.

sierra Leone WEST AFRICA – Partners Alphonso and Nana Barry since 2010
Alphonso, a converted Fula Muslim has a passion to reach his people and start churches in Muslim villages where there has never been a church. Nana a nurse now has her dream of a mobile medical clinic.
- Alphonso oversees the work of 30 pastors and churches
- This year there are 11 new churches and 5 more ready to begin
- Each pastor located in a central village is committed to starting 10 new churches in surrounding villages and training leadership in each village
- Support a pastor for a year for $1,200
- Nana's mobile medical clinic reaches at least three villages a month and 900 people
- Each medical clinic costs approximately $200
A Muslin chief turned away Alphonso and Water of Life that wanted to derill a water well in the village. But when the women who had to carry the unclean water from a great distance heard what the chief had done they protested. The chied apologized to Water of Life and welcomed the Christians back to the village. A water well was drilled near a mosque with a sign that says, "A Gift from Jesus". The new church in the village is growing.
