Areas of Support

Cancer Support Group [show]
This group is for adults who are experiencing or have experienced cancer of any type. The group usually meets the second Wednesday of the each beginning June 11. The group meets in  Room C215 from 6:30–8 pm.

  • In our summer sessions, we will openly discuss cancer, it’s effect on your life, and feelings associated with its diagnosis and treatment.
  • Fall brings a new series called The Cancer Fighting Kitchen which focuses on healthy foods, and how they can be a beneficial aide in fighting and preventing cancer. This series ends in October with a live food demonstration in our Brookwood Kitchen by our own Chef Lonnie!
  • The winter series is an 8-week Bible Study called Hope That Lives, by author Kim Turkington. This was written out of Kim’s own experience with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2005.
  • Cost is free. See Upcoming Support Groups below for more information and to register.

It is our prayer that the insights and direction provided through the Cancer Support Group bring hope, encouragement and strength for all who not only GO through cancer, but GROW through it in the Lord.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds… Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit.
Psalm 147: 3-5 (NIV)

GriefShare: A Grief Recovery Group

By sharing together, we can learn from one another about how to process our own grief and help encourage those around us suffering from grief. Whether your loved one has just died, you are anticipating a death, or you have grief from the past, this group could be a good place to start the healing process.
